Their Story.

Wedding Size: Medium – A full 3-day weekend celebration blending both Western and Indian traditions.

Every wedding is special, but Alisha and Reid’s celebration was truly in a league of its own. From start to finish, their planning journey was full of creativity, logistics, and a little bit of adventure. We’re excited to take you behind the scenes!

When Alisha and Reid booked their venue, Alisha hadn’t even seen it in person. By the time they brought our team on board, it was late fall of 2024, and everything from vendors to rentals still needed to be finalized. Their venue was the beautiful Royal Canadian Yacht Club, accessible only by boat. None of us had been there yet, so to truly understand the space, our team hopped on the very last ferry of the season in early November. Since Alisha and Reid both live outside of Canada, we documented every detail with photos and videos, compiling a comprehensive reference guide to help us all visualize their big day.

Logistics became our best friend. Every detail: florals, candles, urns, DJ equipment, and even DIY décor, needed to make the journey by boat. Alisha had an elegant and intentional vision, so champagne coupes, water glasses, charger plates, and specialty linens were sourced through external rentals and coordinated with the amazing team over at Element Event Solutions. On top of that, with many guests coming from out of town, we organized shuttle buses to transport everyone from their downtown Toronto hotel to the docks.

Ready to see how all this planning came together? Let’s dive into their wedding day.

Alisha, Reid, and their bridal parties all got ready on the island together, setting the tone for a relaxed and intimate morning. Reid even transported their cakes on a friend’s sailboat, a perfectly fitting detail for this venue.

Our team at JT Wedding Events arrived early with all of their DIY decor and candles to start the set-up. Working alongside RCYC’s staff, we counted every table and chair, styled the welcome table, dressed the cocktail hour space beside the ceremony lawn, and placed florals at the outdoor bar, cruiser tables, and in two stunning arrangements framing the ceremony backdrop. The weather couldn’t have been better, allowing both the ceremony and cocktail hour to take place outdoors under clear skies and the beautiful Toronto skyline in the background.

As the sun began to set, guests gathered to watch Alisha and Reid’s first dance outside, creating a truly picturesque moment made even more special with live music and singing from their band. From there, everyone moved indoors for an elegant reception featuring a three-course meal, heartfelt toasts, and a thank-you speech from the couple. A group photo kicked off the dance floor and the Toronto night skyline was in the background. An amazing end to a beautiful 3-day weekend of celebration.
